Is Etherview safe to use?
Absolutely. Etherview is designed with a "Security-First" architecture. Unlike many other crypto applications, we never ask for a "Connect Wallet" (MetaMask/WalletConnect) interaction that requires you to approve permissions. We only require your Public Ethereum Address. Sharing your public address is safe; it's similar to sharing your email address—it allows people to send things to you but doesn't give them access to your account. Because we never handle private keys, it is technically impossible for Etherview to move your funds.
How do you get my wallet data?
All data displayed is sourced from public blockchain records. When you add an address, our system queries various blockchain nodes and indexing services (like Alchemy and Etherscan) to retrieve current token balances and NFT ownership. We then combine this with market price data from CoinGecko and NFT marketplace APIs to provide a real-time valuation.
Which blockchains and networks do you support?
We currenty provide full tracking support for:
How is the value of my NFTs calculated?
NFT valuation is based on the Floor Price — the lowest current listing price for any item within that specific collection. This is retrieved from major marketplaces like OpenSea. While rare items may be worth more, the floor price provides the most conservative and reliable market-clearing value for your portfolio calculation.
What is 'Cost Basis' and why should I care?
'Cost Basis' is the original value of an asset for tax purposes (usually the price you paid). By setting a cost basis on the Cost Basis page, Etherview can calculate your Unrealized Gains or Losses. This allows you to see how your investments are performing relative to your entry price, rather than just seeing their current total value.
Do you support ENS names (e.g., vitalik.eth)?
Yes! You can enter any valid ENS domain or standard 0x... address. Our system automatically resolves ENS names to their underlying addresses before performing its data scan.
Can I export my data for tax reporting?
Yes. On the Realized G/L page, you can download a full CSV export of your transaction history, including calculated gains and losses. This is designed to be compatible with most common crypto tax software tools.
How do I delete my data?
We respect your "Right to be Forgotten." In the Settings modal, there is a "Clear All Application Data" button. For guest users, this wipes your browser storage. For signed-in users, this permanently deletes your profile and all associated historical snapshots from our cloud database.
